TIER becomes Dott: 427 cities available on Dott App

TIER is now Dott

1 October, 2024

TIER-Dott announced today that the company will operate under the single Dott brand name. The European champion of shared micro-mobility will therefore rebrand all TIER vehicles in the upcoming weeks with the Dott logo and users will be redirected to the Dott app. Users will be able to access a fleet of 250,000 electric scooters and e-bikes in 427 cities across Europe and the Middle East within one single app. Behind the scenes, the best of TIER and Dott hardware, technology and operations will support the service and the cities.

Simplicity for users and cities: one brand, one service

Following the merger of the two companies, TIER and Dott, the European champion of shared micro-mobility was created at the beginning of 2024. To simplify the user experience and to make the service of both companies available for all users, TIER-Dott decided to operate under a single mobile app, service and brand: Dott. The teams are combining the best technology, hardware and operations of TIER and Dott to serve all users and cities. After successful tests in Spain, Germany and France, the company has decided to pursue this strategy: all cities will be migrated by early 2025.

With ten million active users in 2023 and a fleet of 250,000 vehicles, TIER-Dott is now one of the largest shared micro-mobility operators in Europe and Middle East. Since the launch of TIER and Dott in 2018, users have completed 380 million trips.

The responsible city partner

TIER-Dott is amplifying public transportation and helping cities to achieve their green mobility objectives. The company’s mission is to change mobility for good, with a shared micro-mobility service that is safe, reliable, accessible and sustainable. Doing this together with cities: with a strong European DNA, both technological and operational roots, TIER-Dott stands for true collaboration, transparency, fair regulation and responsible operations.

In the cities where TIER is active, the team is working on a smooth transition for all users and cities. This includes close collaboration with cities where TIER is integrated in the local Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) systems. Behind the scenes, local operations and contact persons remain the same.

Henri Moissinac, CEO TIER-Dott, comments: “We are thrilled to announce that all TIER and Dott vehicles will be available in one app: Dott. This will enable tens of million users to ride with us in 427 cities in an efficient and safe way. We’re here to change mobility for good, together with the cities, their citizens, and stakeholders and complement the public transport systems at a local level and in a sustainable way.”

For TIER users today

TIER users are contacted via email and through their app with all the relevant information to ensure an easy transition to the Dott app. Switching to Dott is done in a few steps: download the Dott app on the phone, create an account and add payment details. Users with the latest version of the TIER application can just click on the link to download Dott and update their information to start riding within a minute – it’s that easy. In the Dott app, users will find a variety of passes making it even more affordable and convenient to use shared micro-mobility.

All TIER vehicles will also be rebranded by the local team, with blue stickers reflecting the transition to the new Dott brand. All operational work, such as battery changes, vehicle reworking or rebalancing in the city, will be carried out by the joint team, combining the expertise and technological resources of both companies.
