Voluntary slavery and human trafficking statement
This statement is made by emTransit B.V. (“Dott” or “we” or “our”) and is applicable to all of Dott’s subsidiaries, including emTransit Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales with current operations in the United Kingdom. Dott is committed to improving our practices to combat modern slavery in our business by taking steps, as far as we are able, to ensure that our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out the steps Dott has taken in 2022 to understand potential modern slavery risks within our business structure and supply chain, and as well as the steps taken to eradicate these risks.
Dott is a company providing micro-mobility services in the transportation sector.
Our group annual turnover will exceed £36 million at the end of our 2022 financial year. Although we are not yet required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are making this voluntary statement to show our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps we are taking to identify risks and tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains.
Our commitment to ethical trading
We are committed to ethical trading principles and to acquiring goods and services without harm to others.
Dott is committed to upholding the human rights of workers, and treating them with dignity and respect as stated in the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the Principles of the International Labour Organisation and does not work with Suppliers who do not comply with these principles.
Due diligence and risk assessment
We are committed to conducting ethical business and eradicating the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain. We vet our suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that they adopt these values and are committed to ethical labour practices. We require all supplier’s agree to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct in our contracts. Our Supplier Code of Conduct includes, anti-slavery and human tracking provisions.
We only employ agency workers through reputable employment agencies that adhere to our anti-slavery and human trafficking policy (or equivalent policies).
We continuously work to improve transparency in our supply chain.
Effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking
We have taken the following steps to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:
- We have a Code of Conduct (“Code”) with provisions focused on creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors free from all forms of discrimination and harassment
- We provide compulsory training to all our employees on our Code annually.
- We have implemented a Supplier Code of Conduct (“Supplier Code”) with anti-slavery and human trafficking provisions: https://ridedott.com/code-of-conduct
- We require all suppliers to sign a confirmatory statement that they will comply with our Supplier Code at all times
- We have implemented a Whistle-Blowing Policy for internal and external stakeholders and we have a non-retaliation policy
- All our employment contracts are written and our practices and procedures support fair recruitment and treatment of employees
- We have an equal opportunities policy with a commitment to ensuring we provide equal opportunities to all employees at all times including recruitment and training practices
- We have an anti-discrimination and harassment policy which prohibits discrimination in the workplace whether on grounds of disability, age, gender, religion, sexual, orientation, marriage, race, color, national or ethnic origins.
Following a review of the effectiveness of the steps we have taken in 2022 to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains we intend to take the following further steps to combat slavery and human trafficking:
- We are working on training initiatives to ensure a high level understanding or the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business
- Dott recognises the importance of and utilizes industry collaboration as a mechanism for change in the supply chain. We are investigating options for industry collaboration as a mechanism for change
- Improving our due diligence process in our supplier selection by adopting a risk based approach to supplier vetting
- Implementing a supplier audit programme to monitor compliance with the Supplier Code
This voluntary slavery and human trafficking statement is made for the financial year ending 31 December 2022.
