Project Manager - Embedded Systems

We are looking for a new Embedded Development Project Manager to join Dott. In this role you will be managing various Embedded Systems and Electrical Engineering projects from ideation through to mass production. To deliver on this you will partner with internal and external teams to bring best in class, sustainable and maintainable vehicles to our customers. At Dott we are driven by the goal of operating sustainable, long lasting and repairable forms of transportation, as part of the Embedded / Systems Engineering team you will be responsible for the process of building the hardware and software to achieve this. The Project Manager will be based in Amsterdam and report to the VP of Vehicle Product. 

What you'll do

  • Work closely with the internal systems engineering & powertrain teams and (remote) partners to realize all projects for embedded systems and powertrain devices
  • Collaborate with the head of embedded systems and the vehicle project managers (program managers) to define the roadmap for different projects.
  • Manage timelines and push to meet promised delivery dates
  • Actively refine and prioritize the product(s) backlog, so the team has a balance between business demand and product improvements
  • Coordinate release and sprint planning with the scrum master and the technical lead
  • Define product milestones and report progress to management 
  • Ownership of the firmware development and hardware development processes, starting with the requirements / design and lasting for the lifetime of the product
  • Work closely with 3rd parties / suppliers to provide deliveries in a predictable fashion
  • Manage ad-hoc changes based on business priorities in a dynamic Engineering environment

What you'll need

  • Experience working in a similar role with demonstrated track record in delivering high quality, timely products that meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Good technical understanding of embedded system development - both from a hardware and software perspective
  • Experience with product development in an agile environment, where scrum is the used framework.
  • Driven to deliver projects in a timely manner
  • Know when to delegate, when to shield, when to execute
  • A creative mindset, strong problem solving skills, and an eye for detail
  • A proactive, energetic personality with the ability to prioritize & multi-task autonomously
  • Strong time management, communication & documentation skills
  • Collaborative, team-mindset
  • Technical writing and fluency in English
  • Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA, Kanban
